throat chakra

Have you heard of Chakras in the body?

Chakra is Sanskrit for wheel, to represent the swirling wheels of energy the body has in the body.

There are 7 major chakras that run along the spine, from bottom to top.

The 5th Chakra is Visshudhi Chakra in the Throat.

When the throat chakra is blocked, or imbalanced it will manifest in many ways.

It can look like

  • not feeling comfortable talking to people
  • feeling like you can't get your words out
  • feeling like no one understands you

It can also be overactive where you find

  • you talk too much
  • gossip
  • can't focus when someone is trying to communicate to you

This Chakra is all about communication and trusting your truth, allowing yourself to release your deep innate creativity. This can be in words, song, and even when listening.

Remember, we are energetic beings, and we can heal ourselves!

Here are some tools to help clear the throat chakra:

  1. Positive affirmations:

  • I am learning my truth.
  • I speak my truth.
  • My truth comes to me easily.
  • I can express myself with ease.
  • I am connected to my truth.
  • My voice is a tool for self-expression.
  • My creativity is an expression of me.
  • My words are powerful.
  • I trust what I have to say.

2. Sit quietly for a few minutes visualizing your chakra colours emanating from your physical body and melding with the energy of the universe.

3. Wear blue clothing.

4. Eat blue foods (blueberries, blueberry tea)

5. Chant the mantra HAM (sounds like HUM).

6. Meditate to the sound of the throat chakra vibration. Here is a beautiful Youtube video you can sit with.

7. practice some Yoga postures that help bring energy and freedom to the neck, throat, collar bones, and jaw.

  1. Ujai breathing
  2. Seated neck rolls
  3. Cat/cow

Give this a try and let me know how it feels and how you are integrating this into your life 💙
